The SMC2862W-G is a 2.4GHz 54Mbps wireless USB 2.0 adapter. Based on the IEEE 802.11g standard and PRISM Nitro™ technology, the SMC2862W-G is designed to handle bandwidth-intensive applications, and is fully compatible with existing 802.11b wireless networks. The SMC2862W-G supports 64-/128-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), 802.1x authentication, and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), and offers an auto-fallback feature that provides scalable connectivity under noisy environments and enables a larger wireless operating range.
